is he for sure going to get it if i am taking meds and we start before the lesions have gone down...i feel AWFUL

His chances are still a bit higher when lesions are present but if your taking daily meds and using condoms on the reg his chance is 1% out of the year based on 2 times a week... if just taking meds and no condoms then its 2% out of the year... if you guys are going to continue having sex then, well i mean he can get tested..but it may defeat the purpose because he can test negative but get it the next time you are together.. know what I mean. It can take up to 3-4 months for the antibodies to build in the system:):)
