yes u can - there is virtually no difference in symtoms.. between the two locations and usually both can swap locations.. u can give oral herpes to some one if they you have genital too ..

but remember this.. generally herpes 1 is oral and 2 is genital and they prefer it that way - and are more successful that way.... being that only about half the peiople get re-occurrances.. - its even less when there is a cross infection.. ie h2 on oral or h1 on genital... so.. that u might never really need to worry about too much - someone would have to have a pretty weak immune system to chronically battle outbreaks.. on h2 oral or h1 genital
