Hi all! I just received a call from my OB this afternoon with my test results stating that I have Herpes Type 1. I have been tested for the last 3 years for EVERYTHING! and have always come back negative. She informed me that I have the "oral kind" I am at a complete stand still as I have never had any kind of sign or outbreak before. I have never even gotten a cold sore. I've gotten minor canker sores before, but that's different, right? I just don't know what to do. I have so many things running through my head right now. How did I get this? Can I give it to my Fiance? Did he give it to me? (He said that his last GF was like me and got tested for everything as well just as a reassurance) How come I've never had an outbreak? Can I give it to him by oral sex and then in turn he's gives it to me genitally? I am so confused and upset with myself I can't even think straight.
The only reason I've always gotten tested for everthing in the past was just pure paranoia. I have always worked around lots of people wether it be in a restaurant, pharmacy, or office building and excuse me for saying this but some people aren't the cleanest. Women's bathrooms I never! sit on the seat or touch the faucet handles or door handles. I just don't understand why this is happening to me. Can my MD tell how long I've had it for? Should I get tested again as kind of a second opinion? I am sorry that I'm rambling on like this I just don't know what to do!?!?! Any help I can get I will be greatly appreciative of. Thank you all in advance for your thoughts and opinions.

what makes u think u have this h1 located at h2 site? if u are not symptomatic? -and ofcourse if its not located at h2.. but h1 site.. its normal - more than 75% of the population have this and shed this - on everthing including glasses and silverware at resturants - this is how i contracted it..i know for sure - because i was 27 and got clinical onset.. 2 days after eating in a resturant that was later closed for health reasons. and i was not dating anyone and i didnt kiss anyone and had been with anyone in months and just lived at home with my parents.. so i know for sure were mine came from.. this is everywhere on everything most children get this before adulthood when the immune system is weakest becaues they are constantly on the floor putting things in thier mouths.. some doctors say they get if from thier parents kissing them - right.. how stupid... i dont knnow anyone who french kisses thier parents.. or even lip kisses them..., anyhow h1 is no big deal - especially if u dont have symtoms u are a lucky one - and those who have half never re-occur.. - i have not a clue what is causing u anxiety.. u could get this from a glass from a kiss from a hand-shake and then touch your mouth lips or nose.. i dont see the big deal.. sure i wouldnt want gross sores on my genitals or lips .. but - u dont have this -- stop worrrying.. also - h1 doesnt do to well at the base of the spine so even if u contract it genitally.. chances of recurring often thre are remote.... h1-- i would celebrate- u dont have anything else - just the crap all children get before adult hood.. well atleast 80% of the children and lucky u are asymptomatic.. wow.. lucky u again
u dont have anything..... nothing..

Hi You can still pass herpes with No smptoms present..HSV1 is not as aggressive as type HSV2 but yes if you have an OB and have Oral sex with your BF you can pass the virus to him. ( more chance if you are active) my advice would be go on the web and download a copy of the Herpes handbook it will explain in better detail and answer all your questions. Herpes is passed through skin to skin contact with the infected area, not through inaimate objects like toliet seats or shower stalls ect... Please relax and don't panic. You and your boyfriend will be just fine. :) take care
