i was prescribed tramadol for pain due to an injury at work. After a few weeks of taking this medicine i decided to stop taking it. Then i started to feel numbness in my hands and wrist with pain on the inside of my arm. it only really bothers me when i lay down so i believe it has alot to do with circulation. I cannot sleep i stay up all night. within the last few days i have only gotten three to five hours of sleep which has effected my work and relationships. what can i do about it and make it better!

Hi dave,
Suddenly stopping tramadol can cause very uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. Two of which are insomnia/restlessness and numbness/ tingling in the extremities.
Please call your doctor and tell him/her that you stopped on your own and are now having these problems.
He/she won't yell at you!! Instead, they may actually help you with the withdrawal. Don't put yourself back ON the drug until you talk to the doc.
