View Full Version : Feeling like I skipped lamictal, but I didn't.

I don't know if anyone else gets this, but if I miss my lamictal after 2 hours, I start to feel really dizzy and slightly disoriented. I started feeling that way last night, and it's way worse this morning. I took my pills this morning, and I checked my pill pack and I didn't forget them yesterday either.

This is my first week off cymbalta--I tapered down with pdoc's help (60-40-20, for a week each), and Monday was the first day I went all the way off. Does anyone know if that could be causing it, and how long it might last?

Thanks

When I came off of cymbalta I had headache, dizziness and had the worst electric shocks that shot down through my body (I found out cymbalta, when discontinued/tapered, can cause this). I was pretty freaked out until I found this out and it hurt too. My vision was also way off...hard to explain...kinda like snapshots...not smooth vision when moving eyes...not sure if this makes sense. It took approximately 2 weeks to stop. Hope this helps.

Thanks--I can't explain exactly how I feel, which is frustrating, but I'm also achey and that's interesting about vision--my seems fuzzy, I've had to increase text size to read.

I called my pdoc--he said I can stick it out, or try going to every other day for a week, right now I'm inclined to stick it out, I'm afraid if I go back to taking it I'll just go through this again.

I WOULD stick it out! You came this far. It totally s*cks I know but it will eventually stop. You've been off completely since Monday, I would almost bet by this weekend most of those problems you are having should have resolved.

Interesting you should mention the achey thing too because cymbalta is used for Fibromyalgia which is a widespread pain condition. Perhaps it acts in the opposite effect when being discontinued. I might not have realized this aspect since I have a chronic pain condition and most likely would have attributed this side effect to a flare of condition.

It's hard to decipher my other condition and coming off off of Cymbalta issues but the vision thing was a big problem and I definitely attribute it to discontinuing the Cymbalata since one day I woke up and it was better. I get what you mean but also can't really articulate it. Not sure if you can understand what the heck I wrote:).

So keep doing what you are doing. It's hard but it would be worse to go back because it will only prolong the inevitable! (((HUGS))) it WILL get better.
