I had Moderate Cervical Dysplasia back in 1996. With a LEEP, each year my paps have come back okay.

In 2005, I experienced severe itching on vulva area and anal area. During all of my yearly gyno appts. I always brought it up. They looked at it and ruled it as an persistent itch and gave me a steroid cream. When used weekly, the itch stays controlled. It always comes back though.

No other symptoms.

I accidentally stumbled about info re: VIN... which is basically dysplasia on vulva area that like cervical dysplasia can turn into cancer.

I think the doctors at my gyno are calling my issue: Lichen Sclerosis

How would they be so sure? It makes me wonder why a simple biopsy (especially since I have had HPV... and VIN is linked to HVP is in my history) would not be taken??

I called to make an appt. to discuss this with the doctor. The nurse on the phone was reluctant and confused why I want to come in.

I wonder now, during all of my appts and bringing this issue up, they examined it and determine biopsy is not needed? Why? Why does it take ME to find this VIN info out and question it?????

Am I crazy???
