My left eye WAS +5.25 Hyperobia (farsighted) and that made me too high risk for problems a few years ago. Right eye +2.00. Also presbyopic.
Well now 2009 ... I had LASIK done at Bascom Palmer eye hospital in Miami (#1 per US news ) and I'm thrilled. The doctor said it could now be done safely due to the newer laser equip. AND the fact that my left cornea was very flat to begin with - so even after correction I would be less steep then some people are naturally. (I was 40 keratometry).
They used Intralase for flap and then WaveLIGHT laser for correction. I had Monovision done which is how I wore contact lens for the last 6 years. Best money I've ever spent (besides $32 for my baby from the humane society).
Good Luck everyone ! :)
PS This is not the time to save money - Go to a reputable Eye Hospital or Doctor.
