Hey everyone I am currently taking 200mg of lamictal 2x a day. The docs added abilify 2.5 mg(half of 5) about a month and half ago and all I want to do is sleep or lay around. I am soooo drained. Is it the abilify or the high dose of lamictal doing this? I was thinking that maybe the higher the dose the better it would be but my aunt takes 15mg abilify and she is tired all the time too. I can't function you guys what has your experiance been on these? Any suggestions would be great.

I don't have any suggestions other than to tell you that I'm on 30mg abilify and 200mg lamictal and am tired all the time as well. I hate it and don't know what to do about it. When I told one of my old pdoc's about it, he did not seem too concerned at all which made me angry. I sleep around 12-16 hours a day and am not sure why. I feel like I can barely function as well.
I would definitely keep bringing this issue up with your pdoc until you get an answer. Be sure to let us know what he says as it might help me and others here as well. I'm going to bring this up again at my next appointment and I hope this pdoc listens to me.

Also, on another note, are you feeling depressed? That might be the issue as well.

If the sleepiness is really bad, press your pdoc for an answer. I've had to do this. Sometimes they don't quite understand how bad side effects can be.
I'm on 150mg Lamictal and am not sleepy all day, but Lamictal can cause both sleepiness and insomnia.

i don't think abilify 30mgs made me tired at all but because of other side effects i had to go off it. i am also taking 400 lamictal but one dose in the morning and it doesn't cause tiredness. seroquel, xanax and klonopin do cause tiredness but i don't mind as when i have nothing really to do i am happy to kill the hours in the day by dosing! without them i don't know how i would go on as the days just seem incredibly difficult just to get through. so am glad when meds make me tired. if i do have stuff to do then tiredness doesn't stop me at all. don't know if this is of any help.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Somedays are better than others but I do have to take naps when possible.
