I take Seroquel, Abilify and Klonopin to keep my BPII in check. I can't take any of the antidepressants because they cause other health problems (bladder issues). I've heard people talk about Remaron.
What is Remaron and does it help with depression, Bipolar?
Anyone take it?

I do not take this medication but I know that it is sometimes used for sleep, so it must be pretty sedating. If you take it before bed though that might take care of that issue.

Remeron is an antidepressant. I take 30 mg at bedtime and it has helped with depression along with the Lithium I take.

I used Remeron for nearly a year, had it at night, it helped with depression and sleep but had one major side-effect: WEIGHT GAIN. Then again, I was on the most lethal weight gain combination, Zyprexa & Remeron, not a good idea. That said, it worked really well for my depression and didn't send me manic like some anti-depressants do and it definately had a sedative effect that helped me sleep.

I took Remeron but gained way too much weight on it so I had to stop taking it. I am not sure how well it worked other than making me more depressed because I was gaining so much weight and not knowing why..

I did take Remaron for depression and I took it for less than a week. During that time I gained eight pounds. All I could think about was food. I was calling it "Ramadan." However, many medications have different effects on different people. I don't even remember whether it worked for my depression.
