Ok this will be my first endoscopy scheduled for Monday - what should I expect - like they are going to put me slightly out and not all the way - Has this happened to anyone?

Also, what can they find in this test? Celtic Disease, Gerd, gastritis am I missing anything?

Gigi11,

I have had both endoscopy and colonoscopy performed at the same time. I hope I can ease your mind about the procedure. I am not sure about the preparation involved for just the endoscopy, but if there is one...just follow the instructions exactly.

The medication used during the procedure is quite amazing. You will not remember a thing about the procedure, and after it is over...in just minutes, you will be totally alert, having forgotten the whole thing.

You may experience a slightly sore throat, but that should be it. The procedure can detect any problems, and can often be repaired at the same time.

I would advise you not to spend much time worrying, it is much easier than it sounds!

Like I had my gallbladder out if there is something wrong with my bile tubes could they see that too? Everyone that I describe my pain to said I could possibly have Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction and wondering if they can detect that as well?
