I had an endoscopy and a biopsy was done. Does this mean there were some questionable areas in my stomach?

Dont worry, they take a biopsy every time. Did they mention the saw any gastritis, inflammation or ulcers? If not, then they saw nothing, or at least I have not been scoped without the doctor telling me his findings before i left.

From what I heard - yes it is a standard procedure - they take it to test tissue for h-ployria, irritation of the stomach wall, and other factors.

Definitely routine.......When i had my scope and they mentioned Biopsy i thought the worse. But they want to check everything. I was happy they did. I was fine. (just mild reflux)

What are the symptoms for mild reflux? Did they tell you your results right away?

I had a pain under my breastbone for the longest time and I started getting heartburn alot........i went through alot of tests avoiding have the endoscope done.....Everything kept coming back normal. Finally I called my dr. and scheduled the scope . It wasn't bad at all....When i woke up in the recovery room she told me to call her office to schedule a followup and that she would have the biopsy results then. That made me nervous. When i went for my follow up she told me all was well except she found mild reflux and irratation to my esphogus. She put me on priliscec for a about two months, I took it longer and I am know weaning off it hoping i will be fine with out the med. Hope this was helpful to you.. bride527

What gets me is these gasterologist are awfully slow in giving you a diagnosis - here you are suffering and they call you when they feel like it. I just hope he tells me I see redness and inflamation but I can't give you a diagnosis yet. That would at least make me feel a little relieved. Right now my doctor thinks this is all in my head which can't be.
