I just to be a health freak when it came down to exercise. I will run mostly at the gym but I never said No to a nice jog along the beach under a bright sunny day. Now, You won't believe the anxiety that comes to me just to think about going outside under the sun. If my body temp reaches a point where the feeling of being overheated hit my brain, I must run to an AC room before something could happens to me. I went to my Doctor, blood tests revealed nothing. I went to the Cardiologist, all clear. I went to a Psyc and he put me on Lexapro. I don't to get hook up in this type of medicine. I heard cognitive behavioral therapy could be a better approach. Please advise.

That's true that you might benefit more from talking to a counselor/therapist about this. Sometimes taking a medication just covers up a problem rather than helping it. If you aren't sure why you feel this way, perhaps they can help you realize the reason you feel this way and what you can do to feel more relaxed. I found counseling very helpful in the past for many reasons. The most important thing is finding someone you feel comfortable talking to. I talked to one lady who was kind of awkward to talk to, so I switched to another person and felt much more comfortable around them.

i have the exact same problem- many years ago i went to an outdoor event and became very overheated- i was so hot i was cold- i was shivering- had goose bumps- was dizzy and felt very sick to my stomach- i knew i needed help and there was even a first aid tent but i just drank alot of water and sat in the shade however i felt bad for at least 2 more days- now if i even feel a tingling or a sensation that i may get too hot i virtually run into the house and take a cold shower and lay down- it's ridiculous and has basically taken over and controls my life- i live in a beautiful state with amazing beaches and so many outside concerts and art shows and all i can think about is how long will i take until i feel like i am going to faint?? STUPID ME- i wish i had advice for you because i obviously am not coping well with my situation but i think some counseling might help- exposure therapy like they do on "obsessed" good luck and i hope you find some answers soon-
