I also had smoked for over 35 years. I recently quit on April 13. It's been 3 months. I had quit 3 times before. Twice while pregnant/cold turnkey, then again later with the patch and had a 6 month quit. This time 10 yrs later I did the Chantix and it has been great. I really couldn't see using a NRT because that is what I'm trying to break the addiction from. The Chantix really helped to take the edge off. Don't get me wrong you still will have to work at it. It can be done. I would recommend reading everything you can about the addicition. There are a lot of informative web sites. An educated quitter is more likely to be successful.

The Easy Way to Quit Smoking is a good book to read. Recommend it highly.

Good Luck
