i have a obliterated urethera due to bike crash other problems also.
may 11th had a procedure for uretheral stricture. was given ciproxin antibiotic and three days later was in hospital with acute kidney failure. my creatine was at 1200.
they said it was a reaction from the cipro. the ting is that i only had 500mg iv cipro and then sent home with pills was feeling sick at home and could not hold down anything so any pill i tryed to take would come back up so i didnt take any more cipro.
uretheral problems can cause a back flow of urine to the kidneys and cause it to fail over time, i had uretheral problem since 8/08.
i now have a supra pubic catheter since may and i am getting uti's witch are common with sp caths. antibiotics arent realy working to well and because of the problem with cipro there's very little i can take.
how long appx does it take your creatine levels to raise as high as 1200 would it raise that high in 3 days.
thank you nosleep09

Hi there,
I know from my husband with his level kidney (diffrent numbers) He went from as norm 1.8(norm for him since his kidney removal from cancer in 07) to 4.6 in less then 12 hours. His was due to a fever as well. Doctor said and I have read on many sites Kidney failure can happen very Quickly as it did with my husband.
Hope that helps
