my nail beds have been permently damaged and my nails are forming ridges and bumps. it is defienlty not fungal related and i have been told its permenent is this true and if so is there anythin gi can do to make it better or more sightly i am a male so wearing coloured nail polish is out the question.

If the Matrix of the nail was damaged, it will form ridges and bumps and the nail plate will respond in the same manner since it grows according to the way it is developed. If the damage is on the part of the nail bed you can see, the same will hold true. Once damaged in this manner, they will always be this way. My son damaged both his thumbnails when he was little and now at 40, they still look the same way.
