The health insurance I have now will not cover Chatix, I have an opportunity to change Insurance companys in Sept. stopping this habit is my top priority because of failing health Does anyone out there know what major Health Insurances DO cover Chantix? Thanks a million in advance, we can all do this with a little Help!!! dhill2020;)

It really depends on the type of plan you choose/purchase, not so much the company. BC/BS paid for my Chantix with one plan, but when we switched to another plan within BC/BS due to an employment change, it was no longer covered.
But, really, if your health is failing and you are or were paying for cigarettes, what's the big deal with paying out of pocket for the med? I know a monthly prescription for Chantix was less than what I ended up spending per month on smokes, not even taking into account all the health care costs associated with smoking. And smokes are a FORTUNE now.

I've had two different insurance companies refuse to cover Chantix and both of them told me it was because the plan administrator (the employer) chose not to cover smoking cessation in their plan. I think this is hooey because the drug is so expensive. Seems it would be cheaper to cover the drug than lung cancer though.
