The hot flashes I can and do live with, those are a walk in the park compared to these moods swings. Its going on 6 months since my last period. My doctor had put me on the normal hrt but that only made matter worst. I was "Over dosing" on estrogen. I went to the drug store and bought over the counter meds like Remifemin which says I should feel a differents in two weeks (I hope so) plus I'm taking vitamins. How do I and my family surive this "Dr. Jelkle and Mr. Hyde"and depression?....HELP!

A girlfriend of mine had horrible mood swings. It's amazing anyone in her family survived. She is now taking evening primrose oil and she figures it saved their lives.

JERI my heart goes out to you. There is a book by a DR JOHN LEE on premenapause that might help. He is s firm believer in progestone cream and it's use.I have used it also. I wish you all the best I know this is hard to go through.

Be very careful of the hype surrounding progesterone cream. No medical studies to back it up. There's no medical studies to back up evening primrose oil either but almost everyone I talk to that's taking the oil says it does work, and has for them for a long time. On the menopause news groups, progesterone hasn't done much good for anyone I've talked to. I used it for a while also and it seemed (placebo effect?)to help for a short time, then back to the hot flashes and other symptoms with a vengence.
