I am only thirty-five and I feel like I am going crazy. A few months ago I had my period 3 times in 45 days. Since my second child was born I bleed very heavy for only 2 or three days. I was concerned, went to the doctors and was told that I was going thru a temporary hormonal change. I had a pap smear done and everything came back normal.
I am still not regular and my last period, which ended ten days ago, was a very dark colored blood. Now for the past four days I have been very uncomfortable in the area of my uterus. I have been bloated and cramping like I am going to start my period but nothing is happening. Are these symptoms of being pre-menopausal? Any suggestions or info are very helpful. I am going crazy!!

Sandy, after my second child was born, I had very heavy bleeding during my periods, a bloated (constantly) stomach, cramps, etc. A pelvic exam finally revealed a prolapsed uterus. Basically, my second child's 15 inch head had ruined my pelvic muscles and everything down there fell. I had a hysterectomy, as well as a postal repair, and that fixed everything. Good luck.
