You could be having peri menopause. I read a book that it can start in your 30's. Look in the library for a book on menopause. Don't be nervous about what your mother and grandmother had. The only thing the doctors asked me about was when my mother started menopause

It's possible. My doctor thinks I am in perimenopause or menopause, and I am only 33. Although rare, it can happen as young as 18. But you should go to the doctor and get some blood work done, especially your thyroid. I had thyroid, ANA, and all sorts of blood work done before my doctor started to suspect menopause. Like you, my mom and all her sisters had hystorectomies at young ages, so I had no idea what my family history might be. My symptoms were headaches, crying, hot flashes, being extrememly cold at night but waking in my sleep hot, mood swings, and forgetfullness, which is probably why I can't think of any more symptoms right now... :-)

Softballmom14:
At 34 I was diagnosed as perimenopausal.
I have much of the same symptoms, namely the red blotchy skin for no reason. The problem is that this can last for 10 years. Gawd, I hope not.
My doctor has suggested a low dose birth control pill, but I haven't made up my mind yet.
Go to your doctor and have your hormone levels checked. It's really the only way to tell.
Good Luck,

Hi.
I am 25, and have just discovered I have been going through menopause.
I had menstrual periods, very bad ones, and I just discovered that all my hormones were lower than your average 60 yr. old female.
My estrogen was 60. I do not ovulate.
I have been put on Ortho-Cyclen (which makes me exhausted)to regulate hormones, but no answer as to why this is happening! I hate this!
I have never concieved a child.
I probably never will.
I wish I could find a doctor who would help me.
Thanks for listening.
