I have had a variety of symptoms come and go -- headaches, heart palpitations, fatigue, spells of feeling hot or cold, etc. -- and my doctor suggested the possibility of early menopause (I am 33). But I am on birth control pills, and my FSH tests were normal and estriadol were low.
Some of my other symptoms -- such as no longer getting any PMS, no real period anymore, and some symptoms such as a pounding heart subsiding when back on the pills after the inactive week -- could agree with early menopause. But they could also be caused by using birth control pills, so I don't know if it's worth going off the pills to get my hormones rechecked.
Has anyone gone through anything similar? If so, I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks!
P.S. I have had tests to rule out other problems. Thyroid (TSH, T3, & T4), ANA, and lots of other blood tests were normal.

I'm currently on birth control pills, 42 (almost 43) years old, and having strong symptoms of menopause....hot flashes, night sweats, hair growth on my chin, etc., etc. I had blood tests done and my FSH is high, but I'm obviously not finished with the whole process yet. My doctor recommended staying on the birth control pills (Desogen) due to several reasons..... it will help keep symptoms somewhat in check, and it will avoid any surprise pregnancies. My sister was completely threw menopause by the age of 43, so it's not surprising to me that this is happening at this younger age for me. But, anyway, to answer your question, yes - I'm on BC pills and will probably stay on them throughout this time.
