Hi!

I have been suffering about a week with pain in my lower central abdomen. It also is sometimes in my low back and right side. I went to the ER and had a negative urine test and a CT showed no kidney stones or other obvious problems. My doctor and I are stumped. I have had a previous kidney stones and it feels similar but not exactly the same. The rhythm is similar - extreme periods of pain interspersed with a more nagging, less intense pain. Sometimes I am almost pain-free and can function but when the pain is bad it is impossible. However, my previous stone pain was on the right side in the front and this is more central - like a bladder spasm?

Anyone else suffer from kidney stone like pain with no stones on their scans? For now I am on painkillers, drinking a ton and straining my urine just in case. I also notice that while most of the time my urine is clear, after a bout of pain my urine is dark yellow with stuff (mucous) in it. I seem to remember this happened with my last stones too. Sound familiar to anyone? I'm getting desperate!
