Last Monday (the 20th) I started having really bad pain in my lower back, between the top of my hip bone and the bottom of my rib cage, all on the right side, in my back. That lasted until Thursday and it was horrible, I couldn't find a comfortable position to stand, sit or lay down. Everything I did hurt. Then, one morning it just stopped hurting, but now it seems to have moved up a little...to directly below my rib cage in the back. It's not as bad now, just enough to notice and is a bit more of a burning pain than a "I feel like I got hit by a truck" pain. So, that's complaint #1. Complaint # 2 is for the past few days, starting Monday(ish) of this week, I've been getting really bad sharp pains in the front...below my belly button, a couple of inches to the right...these pains are very sharp, stabbing like pains that only last for a few seconds, then go away. They are completely unpredictable and random. Complaint #3 is, I have what can only be described as a weak stream. 4 out of 5 times when I pee, it's just a trickle, even though I felt like I had to go really bad. Every now and then I get lucky and get some relieve, but other than that...I have pretty much felt like my bladder was about to explode for the past 3 or 4 days. Even after I pee, I still feel like I have to pee...

Any ideas?

First thing go see a doctor- Have them due a urinalysis-I to had the pain that you are describing except mine was the other way with pain in front that turned out to be Gall bladder then After removal got the pain in back that turned around in front-No kidney problems turned out to be Diverticuosis-Bowel problem- So if kidneys check all out have them check gallbladder and Colon.

deff sounds like a kidney stone. you pass it on your own so the only thing a doctor can do is give you pain medication, unless you notice it isnt going away you would want to go in to make sure its not so big that is has to be removed surgically. The feeling like you cant get comfortable, pain and having to pee feeling are the exacttttt thing that happen with kidney stones, ive had them 4 times

Thank you both! I'm making an appointment today. Everything seemed to get better for a couple of days, but now it's just as bad.

How are you doing now? I passed a stone recently, but have several more to go.

Finally went to the doctor after hurting for 2 weeks. I had a kidney infection. He gave me some Levaquin and I'm feeling much better now!!! Still drinking lots and lots of water though! He said he suspects that I've had stones before based on the pain I described to him. But luckily they were minor enough to have been passed within a couple of days. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
