My mom is always bugging me saying that there is something wrong because my toenails, mainly on the big toes, are somewhat purple, darker than my fingernails. Is this normal? I tried to look it up online, but there were so many things associated with it, and I don't have other side effects or anything. I'm in good health.

One thing I could think of is that I do yoga and other floor exercises which put a lot of pressure on my toes. Could that be it?

Any advice would be great. Should I see a doctor?

Purple usually signifies a hematoma which could very well be associated with the pressure you put on the nails. If you are constantly bruising the nails, you may be performing the exercises wrong. I would see a podiatrist.
