Why not try the Vitality pack. Do a search for it on the web and check it out.
The calcium is 650mg with this product.

Boy are you a canidate for some information I found out about.

Go to the Thyroid Disfunction board,
Find the post called:'Information Archive'...go to page #2 and scroll down to the post about Magnesium, read that, then go to page #3 and read about Maca....I think you'll be surprised on what you read. Diana

Why can't you take a regular multivitamin and an extra calcium pill? That's what I do.
Why do you have to take a vitamin with calcium? Why can't you just take you Oscal with a reguar vitamin>?

i do take oscal..but if i take more than one a day i have unrinary problems...the multi vit i am taking now only has 250 mg calcium in it and to get 500 mg i would need to take to per day...my goal is get 1000 mg of calcium instead of 750mg to see if i can tolerate that and only have to take one multi and oscal a day...

According to the article that I posted earlier for you to check out.

Take just calcium without enough Magnesium can cause problems. Please go to the site I suggested and check out both the Mag.citrate article and the Maca article. I'm on both right now. It's only been 12 days so far...It's a very eye opening couple of articles about this very subject. I will check back if you want to comment on what you read. Diana

diana...i was not discounting what you posted about magnesium...i was only answering ism's question about why i dont take an extra calcium pill......i will ofcourse read the articles you suggested...i have heard before of the importance of mag ...currently in my multi i get 2.5 mg which i understand to be 125% of the daily requirement...when i saw my internist last month it was right after i had read about mag and i asked her if she thought that i needed to take a mag supplement along with the multi ..she told me no that between the multi and what i get in my diet it should be enough...but dont get me wrong i know dr's dont always have all the answers and i am open to anything that will stop me from getting osteoperosis.....one of my problems seems to be that i can not tolerate certain meds and supplements...fosamax,actonel and even 1250 mg of calcium seem to cause me urinary problems.....thats why i am currently getting only 750 mg..which the dr has told me is not enough....fortunately ..i recently started evista and outside of it causing me very vivid dreams i seem to be tolerating it ok..whether it will stop the bone loss ..i wont know that til my bone density scan next may.......thanx barb

You may want to consider checking out the vitality pack I suggested as there have been women who have used the calcium supplement this offers and have had better bone density tests after using this than what there original test results were.

yes i did go the vitality pack web site..my big concern is whether or not i would be able to tolerate it...have you ever known anyone who had urinary problems from calcium, actonel, evista .

No I have not known anyone that I can remember who had trouble with those things causing urinary problems. becuase those supplements are made with fructose compounding I really think they may work for you. There was one person on a yahoo group I subscribe to who had trouble with other vitamins etc and these were fine for her. Another one has celiac spue and can't tolerate gluten but she replied to someone with questions on this that she started the supplelments slowly adding them one at a time and can tolerate them all even with her celiac spue. Hope this gives you some encouragement to at least think about these.

Ok I am changing my suggestion since I can't seem to figure out how to get you to the right website without violating board rules. Try doing a search for Mela-vita and Mela-cal. Hopefully this will point you in the right direction. Together these two products make up the vitality pack although you don't need to buy nor take both of them.
