I had never heard of this before reading your post, but I have an article in my local paper today that addresses herbal solutions to menopause vs. medicinal. They mention Black Cohosh in it. If you are interested in me giving you the info, I can do that. Small artictle addressed just to Balck Cohosh. Unfortunatly it does not mention anything about dose, which I know was your original question. Sorry I can't be of more help. Let me know. Feel free to email me also if you'd like. Email address is sgan@glasscity.net
Hope you find your answers!

My bottles say 2 tablets a day with meals. I take one with breakfast and one with dinner and they are 80 mg. each. I got them in Vitamin World and the girl in the store told me that "yes, it is known to be good with helping menopausal symptoms." I also take 80 mg. of Soy daily and totally eliminated hot flashes and sleeplessness. I've been taking Soy for about 1 1/2 years and Black Cohash for about 4 months. The clerk in the store did tell me that I should go off the cohash after 6 months for a couple of weeks and then I could start up again. Don't know why, but even the bottle said that.
