Hi..I still have my period, age 45, been irregular for 2 years, sometimes every 4 weeks, others 7-8-9 weeks(all my life every 28 days on the dot, maybe 1 day early or late) Hot flashes started 6 months ago for 6 weeks, stopped and came back 2 days ago...I had FSH test..In the post menopausal section the range is 23.0-116.3, my FSH is 65.6...wouldn't that mean your in the change??/ Is it past the change.?.I still get my period that's why the doc put me on premarin , which I'm off now(another long story) Please don't say to ask my doc, already did..I don't understand this still..Anyone have any knowledge on this..thanks DEB :)

what you are describing sounds more like perimenopause..postmenopausal means you havent havent had a period for one year..

Hi BJG..thanks for the reply...That's what I was told too, BUT why do I have that kind of FSH?...The range for POSTMENOPAUSAL is 23.0-116.3 and my FSH is 65.6...I don't understand what that means..I can't get a real answer from the doc..I know, change doc :) HELP

is it possible that the range you are referring to is menopausal and not post menopausal..but i dont really know the answer..do you think it might be a good idea to see an endocronologist..pls let me know what you find out....

The range is for menopausal women. Mine was something like 59 which isn't that far behind yours. It simply means you are more than likely starting menopause which you of course already knew.
