View Full Version : Cramping after menopause?

My best friend is 48 and hasn't had a period in over a year. She has not had a pelvic exam in several years either, which I was shocked about and told her that it's in her best interest to have a yearly checkup.

Anyway, the only symptom of menopause she has is vaginal dryness and she says she sometimes is moody. She has never had a hot flash or flush. Two weeks ago she told me that she had some very strong menstrual-like cramps one day, and felt slightly nauseous, but there was no bleeding or intestinal discomfort. It only lasted the one day and then she was fine.

My question is, after menoupause is it still possible to have cramping like that?

I really wish she would go to the doctor and get checked out. She never had her hormone levels checked so I'm wondering if she could possibly not be menopausal, just hormonally imbalanced?
