Can someone please help me find some information on the web related to sexuality during menopause. My female boss, who is in her early fifties is in a terrible state and is loathe to approach her GP. She confided in me recently that she has been having feelings towards other women (she has always been in heterosexual relationships) for about 6 months. I have tried to reassure her by insisting that women feel confused about their own sexuality during menopause due to the fluctuating hormone levels but she remains unconvinced. She really thinks that there is something wrong with her and feels she cannot see her GP about this. I have found many websites with informaion about lack of sexual desire but none relating to feelings of attraction to other women. I feel sure she would consult her GP if I could convince her these feelings were related to the menopause. Please please can anyone help me out?

women feel confused
about their own sexuality during menopause due to the fluctuating hormone levels..."
This is new to me. If I felt "feelings" towards my own sex for six months or six Days I'd be very suspicious I was gay. Lots of women realize this in later life; one vet's wife dumped him for a woman after 18 years.
She will have to go thru this on her own. I don't think you can help her.

There is a program on Diiscovery Health channel, "Berman and Berman, For Women Only"
The program deals with women's health issues and sexuality. The show is on nightly. I have found it very informative and entertaining. and very open. The hosts are both doctos, sisters in fact. Laura Berman and Jennifer Berman. one is a female urologist and the other is a psychotherapist/sex therapist.
They also have a book published, "For Women Only:
A Revolutinary Guide to Reclaiming Your Sex LIfe"
I have the book and it is full of good information as well as links to other books, web sites, etc.
They also have a women's clinic in the Los Angeles area.
I think that the ook may have some relative information. If not direct answers, possibly suggestions as to where to find the answers. just a suggestion........
personally, I do not know if the feeling of being attcted to women all of a sudden is truly a menopauseal related event. My feelings is that at different stages in their lives, some women do notice that they are attracted to other women. I don't think that means all of a sudden the woman has become "gay"......
it may occur for many reasons, a history of difficult heterosexual relationships, anything.......
I have been attracted to other women at different phases in my life. I am heterosexual. It did not even enter my mind that I might be gay! and even if the "attraacton leads to action it still does not mean that the person is gay. JMHO
