Hi,
My mum is 63 years old and told me she has a dropped bladder and is really worried. She is doing Pelvic floor exercises which helps a bit. She said she could feel it hanging down and could even see it if she got a mirror and looked up there in the area. Does anyone know what I should tell her to do?

I had a lot of trouble in this area, and what made it worse was waiting any lenth of time before relieving the bladder. If you have this problem it's always helpful to empty the bladder every 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. SLOWLY increase your water, make sure you are getting rid of the water you drink before increasing, I increased my water by a cup weekly, also taper off on the caffine till she's down to 1 cup, I don't even crave the one cup anymore, and I was a huge coffee drinker. But a urologist appt. is a good idea, has she seen a doc. yet?
Also I found out that if the colon isn't working properly that this also interfered with things. She made need to have it surgically corrected if it's going to interfere with daily living, or worse, cause other medical problems. Diana

She should have the doc evaluate her if she hasn't already as this could be her uterus prolapsed or it could be her bladder. If she has been seen by the doc then she should do what he recommends for it. Prolapsed uterus can be held up with a pessary which can be inserted and is cleaned etc in the docs office so have her get things checked out if she hasn't done so already.

I had mine repaired surgically-and it is WONDERFUL! Your mom should see her urologist for suggestions. She won't be sorry.
