Has anybody tried using Yasmin for HRT? I took it for a year (after not liking prempro) and felt great - no more hot flashes ...better memory. I stopped because of blood pressure problems, but that doesn't seem to have been the cause. Now I have hot flashes again, vaginal dryness, etc. Yasmin is a birth control pill - it seems like a lower dose would be good for hrt. I don';t want to go back on full dose because it was stimulating me to have a period every month, and I thought I was through with that!

I had a hysterectomy in 1998.....many problems since then and started taking yasmin in january 2003......only been on for 4 months......Very happy. First time with no hot flashes and being able to sleep in 5 years. For me menopause has been a complete nightmare and I wish I would have had another option back then. I am 38 years old and when I had this, I was 33. I feel that it changed every aspect of my life and there was nothing pleasant about it at all.
Yasmin has been a wonderful thing for my body.....I take all active pills and skip the white ones just moving on to the next pack. I am on my 14th week of all active pills and haven't had a hot flash in 3 months......
I did however experience a yeast infection and I am still having a lot of breast tenderness......Enlarged by 2 1/2 cup sizes in the first month and still hasn't gone down at all. (A side effect I don't mind except for the tenderness)....Did you have that???....I don't have to worry about periods because of the hysterectomy, but do have to worry about flares of my lupus. Let me know if you decide to take this again. I also wanted to take it because of the acne problems I was having since the surgery....I think it has helped although not 100%.

I too am taking Yasmin for menopause issues. I am 31 years old and it has been an interesting road but this Pill is helping me with the acne and sleeping...Not sure about any of my other issues yet. Keep me updated as to your decision with this pill and I will too. Also I am on the lowest dosage they have available and I have seen a difference. Hope things are going well for you both.

Hi! I am 43 and on day 5 of Yasmin..for severe pmdd. I have tried everything else..I get extremely angry..Say a prayer for me! I will keep you posted hopefully! Tress

Hi I haven't heard of Yasmin. Is it prescribed more for menopause or what? I have a lot of trouble with hot flashes and insomnia the week of my period. I have been to 2 different gyno doctor both said nothing I could do but wait until I hit menopause and don't have a period. Then we will talk about what to do if anything. It doesn't seem to me there is much we can do about the symptoms according to my doctors. One of them do give valium for bad days of PMS.. thanks Linda M
