Has anyone experienced a burning sensation in their mouth and tongue. Usually after I have experienced this I get sores on my palate that blister. Dentist thinks it may be lichen planus. Ever since I started menopause I have had so many dental problems. Especially sore teeth and gums. Any advice. I have been to the dentist so many times

You might want to try tea tree oil and see if this helps or even try a toothpaste that contains tea tree oil.

I also have sore teeth and gums and just went to the DDS today to have my gums checked. He acted like I'm nuts b/c everything looks fine. I also have TMJ, so it's hard to determine if it's meno or TMJ that's causing my symptoms. It's very frustrating and I'm real tired of all this pain!!! I heard that Echinacea toothpaste is good for sore gums, so I just started using it on Sat. Also Vita-Myr toothpaste is for sore gums, but it seems too strong for me, so I can't use it everyday. I usually can't use tea tree oil b/c it burns more, but it may work for you. Today, my lips were burning as well as most of my body. Hope this helps. Sue

I have had some of the more unusual symptoms, but not this one. I would ask the gynecologist if this could be from peri-menopause. I have noticed that for soreness in the mouth (at least for biting ones lip or tongue or cut skin in mouth) that oral hygiene products with myrrh in it work wonders. I also recommend Slippery Elm lozenges-they're remarkable for when one bites their lip or tongue, maybe they would help the soreness you experience.

My mom has had that pain in the mouth for the past year. After going to the dentist and doctors several times, they finally diagnosed her with burning mouth syndrome.
