I'm only 22, but last year my doctor gave me 5 shots of depo in a two month time span. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of too much depo causing a person to go into menopause prematurly? I have hot and cold flashes and get worn out very easly, I'm also extreamly cranky, get migrains often and for some reason I almost black out a lot. By almost I mean that I don't have any balance and I my sight goes completly black so I don't see anything, I start to fall, but right before I do (fall) I regain my vision and control of my body. If anyone has any information I would really like to hear from you!!! :)

First of all, why so much depo (are we talking about depoprevera or HRT) if depoprevera... before my hysterectomy i was on the dep shot & since I had so many problems, at my peak, I was getting 1.5 mgs every 3 weeks to keep from having periods. BE very careful of this, since my system was quite for so long i wound up with cysts covering both of my ovaries on top of all my other problems, the dr himself admitted that was probably why I had the cysts.
When I would get my shot I would be pretty much a crazy person for 3 days, migranes, mood swings galore and I'm sure there's more but that was a couple years ago. I don't see why you would need that much depo & even if you do, if it is making you feel that way, you need to talk to your docotr and see if he can either cut the dose or try another drug.

I was given so much b/c my period just would not stop!! even after the last injection I got I still had a nonstop period for 2 weeks, I just finally gave up and then I guess it kicked in. I'm really scared now due to the fact that when I was pregnant the second time I was having sharp pains and it was found that I had a cyst on my left ovary. I haven't contacted that doctor due to the fact that I have moved out of that state, and I haven't had the money to see a doctor here yet. I haven't had the pain that I experienced when I had the cyst b4, but I guess you never can tell. I'm having almost regular periods now, but I'm still worried about what that medication has done to me, I guess I'll have to scrounge around to get money to see the doc. Thank you soooo much for your reply!!!
