Would all of you bear with me. I've got arthritis of the spine, so I can't sit at the computer to look at all the posts because it hurts too much stay on the computer.
Kindly tell me what you take for hot flashes that's "natural"--please. I'm going CrAzY!! If you take vitamin E for example, how many milgrams should I be taking? I will take ALLLLLL the suggestions I can get. I'm miserable!!
Bless All Of You!!

Hi, SoundOfMusic. I sure hope that your arthritis lets up soon and that you will be feeling better.
I am newly Menopaused. When I was in peri, I got such mild , infrequent hot flashes , I call them "blushes", because they are nothing like many people describe. Well, needless to say, I didn't have to take anything for them.
However, I think that there are some sprays that some people use.I recently bought some Chocolate Peppermint perfume (if you can imagine that). I sprayed too much on my back one day and my back was almost as cold as ice ! I was than thinking, hey, they should make some sort of peppermint spray for women to use on their face, neck during hot flashes.Maybe a natural food store worker can suggest something.
Avon had something out for peri menpausal woman - a spray for the face and neck-I can't remember what it was called, though.
I think your doctor should suggest what you might take internally, though.
Wishing you the best and wishing that the hot flashes just stop.

Hi Mrs. Kramden,
Thank you so very much for your reply. You're a sweetie!! I'm 49, and so I've get more of full blown sweating, as compared to just getting warm. I HATE to sweat!!
Anyway, I appreciate your advice, but someone said something about vitamin E or black colash. (however you spell that) and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions along that line. What about soy???
Thank you Mrs. Kramden. I could still use more advice from anyone!!
Most Sincerely,
Jamy

I just turned 44 and entered perimenopause in January(my mom went at 39). I don't take any hrt's and am trying avoid them if at all possible.
I take chaste berry extract (Vitex angus-castus) The health food stores carry it in pill or liquid form. (Opt for the pill, the liquid tastes just like the tree bark it is made from) It works great! My system has calmed down and started to regulate (takes about 2-3 months of daily use). The only time I have any trouble is when I have any alcohol. This does not happen every time, just occassionally and then I get hot blushes with some sweating, nothing like the blowtorch effect I got in the beginning. I have friends on hrts that report a similar effect with alcohol.
The chaste berry plus giving up 2/3 of my caffeine intake since March (doctors orders) has also pretty much stopped all the the monthly pain, water retention and breast swelling.
hope this info helps

Thanks dragonwolf--I will go to the health food store today. I need all the help I can get??? I love it when you said it feels like a "blow torch" when the sweats hit. When people say "blushing" I think, noppers, it's a lot worse than that---LOL.
Again, thanks for taking the time to reply!!
Sincerely
Jamy
PS-I'll take more suggestions too everybody. I just want everybody to weigh in on the subject, dragonwolf!! Hope you understand---you are so kind!
