Hi Rochelle and Welcome!
Most likely, you have a sciatic nerve. The usual treatment is to lay down and use ice. (I've never done that.) The pain is like a burning sensation and if you've ever been in line at the store when it hits, tears could be streaming down your face before you get to the register. Then suddenly, it disappears and you feel wonderfully grateful. Does this sound similiar?
The good news is that it's stress related. Which means if you have some faith in tomorrow, it will go away. You can still walk, jog, run and exercise. You're not wheelchair bound.
I have no medical reason to believe this but since taken the calcium/magnesium/zinc, I hardly feel any pain anytime anymore. It could be that I'm just taking better care of myself emotionally, but I'll swear by the calcium.[/QUOTE]

I've been having back pain on and off when I wake up in the morning for the last year. I didn't think of it but some of the posts here made me realize it's probably from menopause.

I've got lots of joint pain that started a month ago and am seeing my Gyn. this afternoon. I'm wondering if this is due to hormones or what. The pain in my fingers and toes is really bad and I have to take Bextra. It helps some days, but not so well others. I was told that if your pain goes away within 30 minutes of getting up in the am, it's probably osteoarthritis. My hip pain used to go away quickly, but now I have to lay on the heatpad in the mornings or it just keeps aching like mad. I've been to a couple of Rheumatologists and got conflicting opinions b/c nothing unusual showed up in my bloodwork. The 2nd Dr. really pissed me off though b/c when I asked her if it could be hormone -related she said, "We like to blame everything on hormones, don't we???" I wanted to punch her lights out for her attitude!!!!

I have had back pain all of my life because I was beatin with a 2x4 as a child growing up, so my spine is full of arthritis. BUT..........joint pains are also a symptom of menopause. My Dr. told me that it was possible that I had fibromyalgia, but wouldn't send me to get tested, instead she put me on an anti-depressant and said that if the pain goes away then I'll know I have fibromyalgia. It did lesson, but I was also put on Celebrex and then they changed it and put me on Bextra. I am now happy to say that ever since I started using the natural progesterone, I am now pain free AND prescription free. I take NO prescriptions of ANY kind and I am only going on my 4th month of using the cream!
Our Drs. are SO uneducated when it comes to our hormones!! I just wish they would listen to us women!!
