This past month i got my period within two weeks of each other. This last time i have it for over a week and ahalf, very light for the most part discharge. is this normal and how long can it last before i need to be concerned? I am almost 49 so im assuming and pretty sure this is perimenopausal leading to that wonderful phase of menopause. Any help?

My periods have been very erratic too since I entered peri a few years ago. I never know what new surprises I might get. I've had the spotting and long, drawn out period that you're experiencing, and the 'extra' period now and then. Everything is probably fine, just hormonal changes, but you could possibly have something else going on, such as a polyp or fibroid (I've had both). If the spotting doesn't stop after a few more days, or you start to experience pain or very heavy, prolonged bleeding, you should talk to your doctor.
