I will be 40 next month. I went to the Dr. and he checked my estrogen level & did the fsh test.
My estrogen was very low at 18, and my fsh was normal at 6.1. He put I was pre-menopause cause of the low estrogen level & all my symptoms I'm experiencing.
My question is : when is the best time to have all your hormones tested? Is mid cycle best?
When he did the blood work, I was on my period at the time. If I get the blood work done mid cycle will it be accurate? Thanks!

For premenopausal women, Estradiol levels range from 50 to 350 depending where they are in the cycle.
The "normal" (I use this in the mathmatical sense) postmenopausal level ranges from 10 to 20.
So, if the number is 18, your levels are quite low.
