That happens to me. Sometimes my fingers look like stuffed sausages and my rings don't fit.

I haven't noticed it with my hands but my feet swell up. I guess it's time for a bigger size shoe.

Sunshine,
LOl :D Forgive me for laughing. It's not AT you, I assure you. You just put it so funny, and I do experience exactly that. I hardly ever wear rings now.
I have autoimmune disorders. (Sjogrens, and CREST) I always thought my fingers resembled little link sausages. I guess that's why I thought what you wrote was so funny! I believe the autoimmune things have something, though I'm not sure what, to do with it.

It can be caused from having too much salt in your diet. I'm not just talking about the salt shaker, but the salt that occurs in the processing of food. Lunch meat, canned soups, processed meats all are high in sodium.
Believe it or not it can also be a sign that you are not drinking enough water. It seems that drinking would bloat your body even more, but your body can retaining fluid because you are not giving it enough. Caffeine will also cause fluid retention. I don't know if it still the case or not but diet soft drinks used to be high in sodium as well.
Also your hands will swell when it is very hot.

Cutup, it is probably the caffine, I start the day with several cups of coffee, then I switch to regular coke. When I get home in the afternoon I have some more coffee to perk me up so I can stay awake long enough to make dinner. I have to make an effort to remember to drink water, I don't drink nearly enough.
