I get pressure in my head from weather changes, PMS, sinus problems, migraines and stress. Not pain, just pressure. When I have this I get dizzy and lightheaded pretty easy. I think perimenopause makes it worse. Also some antidepressants, hormone swings, thyroid, high blood pressure meds and antihistimines etc. can have this effect. Watch the OTC stuff you take 'cause it makes some Rx side affects worse. If the pressure is from weather then there is nothing that can be done. :( If the dizzines make you feel sick ask the Dr. for something to ease the nausea. I have and he prescribed something. It helped.
Best to you--R.

Yes I get that "weird" never before felt "pressure" in my head...(I describe it - not as pain - but a "wave" of heaviness or squeezing of the brain???...I'm 41 & have just this spring begun major perimenopausal symptoms of night hot flashes, sore breasts, heavy perios (yet regular), horrible concentration/memory, anxiety with nervousness feeling in hands, weak feeling in legs (muscles), & recent joint cracking & horrible sleep (nightmares & inability to sleep long)...

I was so amazed at how I (a very healthy active woman), became so "unhealthy" in such a short time...just since spring...

Had mri's, ekg, many blood tests & ultrasound of abdomen & they say I'm extraordinarily healthy...but I tell you I feel like #@*!...Then, I went to gyn & he put me on Aleese birth control pills, & believe it or not, I have not had sore breasts or the "waves of pressure" in my head. I had also been having "shakes/jitters/vibrations" in hands only upon waking from sleep, which have disappeared...I've only been on these bcp's this week, but I really think they're helping with those 2 things...& I've had good nights sleep, too. I hope it keeps up...

Hope this input may help...good to you (I'm new at this perimenopause stuff...arrggghhh)...bubbly

I have just started having symptoms of menopause. The first symptom that I had were the heart palpitations, at that scared me to death. Then I started having pressure in my head and that was even worse. I don't have the heart palpitations that often and when I have them now they don't bother me as much, I know that this is just one of the symptoms of menopause. But the pressure in my head is very annoying. I have had test done on me and everything is normal.

I get the pressure but it's usually when I get a cold my sinuses swell up. Instead of getting a normal head cold it goes to my sinuses and I don't get the runny nose or sore throat. I know it's a cold because it always happens after my husband has a cold and I catch it.
