I have used Advair for many years starting with 250/50 and reducing to 100/50 over the years. Somehow I change my dose from 2x to 1x and a MD told me he thought I didn't need it. At first I was doing just fine but then began having SOB at night. I went to see a pulmonary doctor and he put me back on Advair. After a week on Advair the SOB dissipated. Prior to restarting Advair I had been losing weight, 10# in two months, and after restarting Advair my weight shot up gaining 5# in three weeks while still on the same diet I was losing weight with. On the Advair my energy decreased and I could only walk half the distance as without the Advair and I feel drained all day with Advair.
At a recent visit with my MD he suggested trying Spiriva. I have been on it two day and I have some SOB especially when laying down. My energy level is also drained on this med. I have read it takes two weeks for Spiriva to have full effect. So I will give Spiriva two weeks and use my rescue inhaler when needed. I am hoping that I can get energy level up and continue with my weight loss while not experiencing any SOB.
Comments appreciated.
