Hi. I am new to the group, and hope someone could advise me.

I have not had a medical examination since I was at school, and am looking for an economic way of having one undertaken. I can't really afford the BUPA or other private health companies, and my GP does not offer such a service. I am looking for a basic medical check up to ensure that everything is well. I am in England, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks A

I am not familiar with the medical system in England. If you wanted to get a CBC "Complete Blood Count", would that cost you a lot? The normally inexpensive CBC checks your blood for any obvious, major health problems. I think that there are even more elaborate types of CBCs, but I am not really familiar with them.

The output from the Lab, show which blood items are within expected ranges and which blood items are unexpectedly outside of expected, healthy ranges, which you could either bring to a doctor for further evaluation, or ask your fellow patients here on HeathBoards, if they understand the output from the Lab.
