My dad is 65 and has been in remission for 1 year. Last month he felt a lump under his collar bone close to where he had his port in (been out for about a year now). He was due to get his CT scan done in Dec. of this year but after talking to dr. he moved it up. He had it done, which he hates because of the stuff you have to drink before, anyways the scan showed no cancer :)! Dr. said 99.9% sure that lump was not cancer! We were so happy, but after they ordered a biopsy the following week it shows that it is cancer and the dr. is not sure what to do.:confused: His nurse told my mother that he has some notations in my dad's file about some experimental treatment. This news couldn't of come at a worst time cause he just got blasted two days ago for some major kidney stones. Now he is peeing blood and very little bits (pepper size) rocks. This is his 5th or 6th time of having kidney stones since we moved to Florida in the 80's.
When he had lymphoma in 2007 he was in stage IV and didn't have to hard of time w/ the chemo they gave him. He did have a hard time w/ the stuff he had after to build up his good blood cells. It made him so sick. He hardly lost any hair but did look pale and weak. He has done great this last year, but has achey legs and numb feet.
How his cancer was discovered back then was an x-ray they did for kidney stones....how ironic :dizzy: This is all so crazy. We go tomorrow to talk w/ the dr. after finding out about the cancer today so maybe we will know more then.
I wrote on this board through out dad's last fight and just want to thank you all in advance for being here and letting me vent as I need to.
Will keep up dated.

Dad's cancer is lymphoma again but a real slow growing one and only that one node.
So the dr. is going to have it zapped 10 - 20 times once a day w/ radiation.
Could someone tell me more about what the radiation will do to your body?
The dr. said seeing it is only in that one area in shoulder and not close to any major organs it won't be bad at all. It does seem like alot of radiation going into the body getting it every day......
I think this is good news. We were just so suprised the cancer came back so fast. His first occurance w/ the cancer it was in his hip, speckled throughout his belly area, in his spine and in his other shoulder and they got that, so this should be a piece of cake!

Hi,
I hope everything is going ok...I just wanted to let you know about the radiation....it does make you tired but it is soooo acurate this day in time that I did not even have any burns or blisters on my skin,,,,I am a nurse and have seen really bad burns caused from radiation 15-20 years ago. I had 30 doses or radiation and chemotherapy....almost 2 years ago....for cervical cancer stage IIb.....I told my kids the radiation was a tanning booth and the chemotherapy was a new diet fad that I was doing....and never let it get me down...I worked the entire time,,,,took off 7 months of college...went back and completed my RN in 2008 :)
You have to have a "test" to have a testimony!!!
Good Luck and God Bless you and your family!
