View Full Version : Beard & Acne?

Beard and Acne:

Do you guys get acne from shaving or NOT shaving?

I have some acne on both cheeks and hope to grow a beard to hide it all.

I already have a thin beard along my jaw-line and have had no acne problems there.

I figure I just grow a full thick beard and hide all the acne.

I will then shave it off 1 or 2 years later and hope that the acne will be gone by then.

Is this a good thing to do? Suggestions?

(yes, I have gone to a dermatologist on acne and none helped over the course of 3 years now. I have tried every single pill and medication)

Whatever you do never never never pick acne no matter how big a pimple gets. The acne is temporary but the scars are for life if you pop. Wash with a mild medicated soap gently, use an astringent 3 time a day, morning, mid afternoon, and before bed. Get good night sleep, eat healthy, and exercise. Don't do drugs they get the oil in your skin working overdrive. It's not a fast cure and you will have bad days and good days. But as time goes on you will notice more good days. Also don't stop with one doctor. Three years is a long time and not get results. Go to another and then another until you find one that can help you because today there are treatments that can help almost any kind of acne but finding a doctor isn't easy unfortunately just keep looking. It won't matter beard or no beard take normal care never scrub them. Also go to a good esthetician and get facials geared for acne prone skin once or twice a month .
