I've had a yeast infection on my weenie and foreskin (uncut) for just over a week now and have been put on a 6-day course of some pills from my doc, then on a cream which I have to rub daily on my parts and pieces, etc. It's still reddened and sore and it burns after I masturbate. In the beginning there was a lot of itching, then peeling and now it just looks red and shiny. This really sucks.

Jim,

You have travelled a hard road. What about the urologist? How can this go on for so long with out medical intervention? I find it do hard to believe that the (RUFE) urologist hasn't done anything to rectify this problem. There must be some way around this guy!...Tagger

Well, these antibiotics apparently can do a lot more harm than good if you overuse them. I always just sort of took them for granted but next time I get sick, I'm definately going the homeopathic route if at all possable!.

So where did you have your yeast infection (if you feel comfortable to tell me)?. I got it on the tongue (including geographic tongue which has cleared up pretty good now) and a really bad one on the weenie and skin which seems to have gone through various stages (ie; first the itching for a few days, then burning and peeling, etc).

My mom also tells me that she had the same problem after taking antibiotics as have a number of friends of mine so I guess it's pretty common to get the "yeasties" after taking them. This is the first time for me and hopefully it will be the last.

Thank's again for replying and hope you get over yours quick. I know they are NO fun!

- Peace

Be sure to eat plenty of yogurt with live active cultures or take acidophillis capsules when ever you need antibiotics to help prevent future yeast infections and for females it is a good idea to always eat yogurt with live cultures or use the acidophillis capsules. You mention it being uncomfortable when you masturbate..............You have an infection that needs time to heal so leave things alone for a few days until it gets better. Also be sure dry well after showers etc as yeast tends to thrive in a warm moist eviroment. You might also want to consider picking up some jock itch powder at your local store to sprinkle on after you shower. Be sure your underwear is 100% cotton and not to tight and that your pants don't fit too snugly. You might also want to sleep naked for a while if you don't so that your peri area has time to breathe.
