I've been getting this very sharp pain directly on my right side even with my belly button.I started getting it a few months ago.It doesn't come alot(maybe 4 days in those few months)but it is VERY sharp and comes and goes very quik.My wife is a nurse and she said it's probably nothing, but the lower part of the liver is in that area. The reason she says it's nothing is because i never get sick and the few times i got blood work(on my own, last time few months before pain)it was fine. It's not bothering me that much,as far as the pain, but it just bothers me that it's there.I've never had pain in that area before.I've had weaker pains in stomach and chest but just indigestion.I've been pretty active my whole life,as far as going to the gym,but i did stop the gym 1 year ago.I went for 1 month a few months ago,but i haven't been into lifting much in that 1 year.I'm more into my work now,but i still love bodybuilding, since i've been into it since i was 13 years old.I didn't train with weights much while in the Corp for 4 years, but i was in great shape. My stomach is not very fat,but i have to admitt, that is is the biggest it's ever been, and i have been eating more sugar in the past 6 months.I usually keep away from red meat at times and i never ate much sugar at all before this.I don't eat BK or mcDonalds, but i have been eating kind of bad latly.I had a few bad pains this morning about 30min after my disgusting breakfast.lol Bacon, taylor ham,and alot of butter on toast.I'm wondering,if my body has become so used to not eating that stuff, and now it can't handle it.It's just a phase i'm going through mainly because i can't find a good gym to join and i'm too lazy to workout at home.I am setting up my workout and diet plan for when i get back from my honeymoon, but i am just curious what this pain is. THANKS

Maybe Irritable Bowel Syndrome???Does it happen mainly after you have eaten? The reason i say this is becuz i have IBS and certain foods or stress trigger it for me. Can be very painful and i usually experiece pain first on the right side then it travels to the left. The severity of pain and location differs from person to person as well as bowel patterns. Doesn't hurt to be on the safe side and maybe go see your doc and talk to him/her.

:-) That's what i think it is too.I would have known, but i didn't quite know what human anatomy looked like inside.I pulled up a chart on the internet and i now see that a part of the colon looks like the only thing in that area.I've had gas problems as far as i can remember.I have an idea why, too. When i eat,i can eat :-) I have a fast metabolizm, which is why i'm not fat,but i can eat 2,500cal at one sitting with no problem.I also eat very fast and i don't chew my food enough.I never get constipated and i never had any pain like that or in that area, but i do get gas quite often.I,also, only crap(number 2 :-))about 4X/week.I read on Mercola, that i should be going at least 2-3X/day.That's alot of toilet paper, but i'd be happy if i could go at least once a day.I just started Jason Winters' Intenstinal Cleaner yesterday.I went this morning, and it was kind of watery(not much, just not solid).I think that's how it should be when cleansing.thank you for your help.I am getting married today and then going on honeymoon, but i am going to visit a doctor when i get back.I just want to be sure. thanks again

I'm wondering if your pain is not your gallbladder. Right under your right rib is where it's located and you mention the classic symptoms of gallbladder problems. The pain usually comes after eating a very high fat content meal. If you think this could be it, start drinking as much natural unfiltered or whatever it's called apple juice. Buy a gallon at the health food store and drink as often as you can tolerate it. Also, beet capsules are a tremendous help for me. I was scheduled for gallbladder surgery about three years ago and have not had to have the surgery yet, since trying these things.
