I have suffered kneecap replacment but had a 2 year wait for an operation.
In that time I have ended up addicted to morphine. I was given time release
capsules but for the last 12 months have been crushing the caps
and eating them for the hit.
At one point I was on 250ml a day. My doctor obviously cottoned on and now
I have gradually come down to 100 a day and am feeling the flushes and tossing and turning once it wears off through the night.
Can anyone tell me how long this will last, as the doses will go
down by 20ml a day per week. And what can I take to help?

since your doc is aware of this now, is he at least helping you to taper off the MS? this is of course something that if you just suddenly stop you WILL suffer with some pretty profound WDs from. it really would help YOU in the very best ways to try and see what your doc can do to really try and help you by Rxing other meds to help while you just go thru this process. the doc who placed you on this really does have some responsibility to try and get you off with the least amount of actual WD problems.
if you go on up to the addiction boards up above here in the A section, almost right at the top here? they will be able to at least offer you some help and support. they really are a great bunch of really caring people there. i do wish you luck with this. been down this road myself. you just really DO need a good solid support system right now to truely help you in the best ways too. just get to the addiction boards. and of course see your doc for any possible help he can offer you. just hang in there, you CAN get thru this. marcia

Thanks so much for your response it helped a lot.I was panicking because I was
put on the dose I should have been on and not my usual self medding. it was only my second day on the 50ml twice a day
mind I had been there before when I was on df118s before my doc graduated me to m/s,and obviously that was something I didnt want to experience again.
With the advice I recieved from yourself and others it gave me a big boost I needed,
many thanks,
Mick.
