My husband is taking this drug, and lately he has been complaining about not having any passion in his life for anything, not even me. My mother-in-law told me that this were effects of the Wellbutrin, that it flatens out emotions and feeling so the person can feel stable. Is this true? I need to know if there is any link because my husband just left me saying that He loves me, and wants me as his wife but he can't feel any passion for me, He wishes he did but just can't. I am heartbroken trying to look for an answer to why he doesn't want to be here. He says he want a family with me,a home, if he could only feel like he felt before. I know the drug is not the only problem but does it have anything to do with it?

Your mother-in-law is right. I knew a man who, while on Prozac, realized one day that he could kill someone and not have any emotions! He decided this was not normal and got off the Prozac!

Really? You don't know what a relieve I feel that that could be true. I love him so much I want so much with him and so does him but He says he has no passion, He doesn't want to hurt me so He left. well he hurts me either way. I am going crazy looking for explanitions, thank you.

hi uhc,
it's also possible that the meds are too strong or not the right one. When i started on celexa i was increased to 60 mgs. I felt flat all the time. It was too much. I stepped down to 40 and feel "normal" and have a normal range of emotions.
He should discuss this with his doc.
