Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone ever experiences a strange throat sensation with anxiety. Mine almost feels itchy. (it isn't allergies) and it feels like I need to clear my throat or cough to make it go away? It is very annoying. I am a hypochondriac so I am worried I have throat cancer or some life threatening disease. Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thank you

Leeola,

I think it's normal...I have the urge to cough sometimes during an anxiety attack...I think it's because the throat constricts and then it's hard to breathe and our throat gets dry and hence we cough. Make sense?

Leeola, my throat lately has been doing something similar as your throat does, and it is super annoying. The more we think and obsess the worse anxiety can get. It is best to relax your throat as much as possible and drink ice water or even warm tea. Best to you!! Cassie
