Hi, I take quite a bit of psychotropic medication for various ailments.
I worry nonstop, and it's been out of control for many years.
Today I saw my doctor, and he has prescribed Trileptal (150 mg) at bedtime. He wants me to start this new medication immediately. Guess what? I'm worried about taking it!!!!! No word of a lie.
I know that this medication is usually given to people who suffer with seizures. My doctor now thinks that my obsessive worrying may be related to small seizures happening in my brain.
I was telling him that I've always worried even as a young child, and I feel as though my worrying started when I was very young due to a violatile, abusive environment. I was really hoping that I may have stumbled onto something and that he would like to explore this new discovery through talk therapy and not drug therapy. I was wrong. I take the following psychotropic meds: Effexor XR, Seraquel, and Rivitril (as needed). I take other meds as well (Modurate, Novopropranolol, and Pantaloc).
Has anyone taken this medication for obsessive worrying? If so, has it worked for you and how has it worked for you? What are the side effects?
I appreciate any and all responses to this message.

Hi there!I've been taking trileptal for years now and it is the only thing that has ever worked for me.There was a time when I was drinking heavily while taking my meds and they stopped working, but I went to rehab and got back to taking them regularly. So,now I'm taking 300mg in the morning,300mg at noon, and 600mg at night and it's the only thing that Iv'e found to stop my excesive worrying and rapid mood changes.I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder,Obssesive Compulsive, severe Anxiety and Depression.Iv'e been on everything.Seroquel, welbutrin, prozac, ris peridol, effexor, celexa, depekote,to name a few.So give it a go round,it may just be the right thing for you.Best of luck.
