I am wondering if anyone can help me.

I have had panic and other problems for almost a year now. I have had episodes of arm problems, like being unable to lift arms and such. My eyes have hurt for nearly a year. I have also had dizzy spells for nearly three years.

Now the eye pain is turning to blurriness. I am starting to get freaked out. I have had problems before but this is getting very dibilitating. Called the neuoro and he said well, I guess it is time to see you.

I had an MRI of neck and brain in July which was fine.

Now I feel congestion in chest, with some chest pain, eye pain, bluriness, and problems with arms off and on.

The docs want me on nuerontin, they think this is just panic disoder and that I am being a hypochondriac. It is very frustating. I have 3 kids all 6 and under. Very hard to take care of kids like this.

Any ideas? I am not sure if it is MS or what. Another list I am on said it sounds familiar with MS but could be something else, too.

thanks.

Hey Tabitha,
If you had an MRI and it was fine it's tough to see how it could be MS, but it sure sounds like MS-type symptoms. Your doctor obviously is not with you on this if he thinks it's a panic disorder. It might be worth going to a chiropractor and getting adjusted in case any nerves are getting pinched or pressed or something. Maybe you could have the MRI re-evaluated just to be sure, if you feel you might have MS.

-- I agree on the chiropractor idea -- they
help,no matter what, in my opinion.
However, if vision is blurry, SEE OPTHALMALOGISTS. I had 4 MRIs in 6 years
and they were "clear" for MS. Then my
vision went dark and blurry, and after
seeing the Ophthalmalogist and the Retina
Specialists, and having many tests, they
sent me ASAP to the neurologist, who sent
me for another (negative) MRI and then
a spinal tap -- and bingo....protein and
oligoclonal bands all over the place, finally
explaining all the problems over the years.

EVERYTHING else has to be ruled out and
many things have to be considered, before
MS is ruled in.

But if you have eye problems, GET TO AN EYE
DOCTOR immediately! Even the doctor at
Sears, where I get my glasses, saw my optic nerve was pale and advised me to see a neurologist (a week after I'd been, and
before my spinal tap was scheduled)

It takes time and going from doctor to doctor
to find out what is wrong with you, but
keep going till you find out something.

Hi,
Sounds like MS to me. I have a lot of eye pain too. I go to my eye Dr. twice a year just to keep up with things. I finally started to wear an eye patch, purchased at Wal-Mart for cheap. When I get the pain, I wear the patch for about 1 1/2 hours and the pain goes away.
I take the neurotin and I love it! I can tell when I have forgotten to take it during the day. It really reduces the sensations, tingling away in my face. It is still there but not as bad.
I've learned most through this--have a good attitude and keep your mind busy with good things. (simple things at times) Your body always can't.
Good luck,
Rhonda
