How many of those eventually diagnosed with MS originally have a negative MRI? The neurologist was so dissmissive of me, but I am still wondering if I have MS but just in a very early stage.

I had 2 MRIs and 1 MRA. The first MRI showed an angioma on my brain from having MIGRAINES. Do you have them? The 2nd MRI and MRA are normal. However, I lost sensation in my left hand and my arms are weak. I also have lost sensation in my left foot. I have had an EEG twice. Do not let the doctor's put you off. I had to tell my doctor that if I have an uncurable thing in my body, I wanted to do what I could to sustain my life. I would not let them sluff me off.

Hang in there and be strong - stand up for yourself. If the doctor you have, won't take you seriously, you need to move on to another doctor and keep searching until you find one that WILL listen and take you seriously.

Let's keep in touch!

You might try asking to get an MRI with flare with contrast and without. They only do them at certain labs. I still haven't been officially diagnosed with MS yet,(my MRI came back and I haven't seen my dr. yet) but have a lot of the symptoms and now have a MRI that shows lesions and my spinal came back bad. For some reason my lesions did not show up on a regular MRI and my neuro suggested we try a MRI with flare. Might be worth a shot.

Thanks both of you. :-)

At this point I do feel like I kind of have to wait and see to some extent - my symptoms aren't typical I have been told. Basically - my limbs fall asleep really easily (a positional thing), and often the muscles really hurt as well. I have quite a lot of pain in my right leg - like deep inner muscles being clenched or nerves being pinched or something like that, especially in the groin/leg joint area, and then getting like a pins and needles feeling. I also have some degree of hyperreflexia in that leg.
I have had this now for somewhere about 3 months... I am very anxious about it but am trying to tell myself the world won't fall apart just to watch and wait for a bit. ;-)

(My MRI did show two very small lesions but due to their position, and as I get very severe migraines they say that's what would have caused them.)

Hi. I'm Andrea - new to the forum. Just reading, and responding.

I agree with what the others said. Hopefully you can find out ASAP what is wrong, and if it is MS - start treatment right away. Keep us posted and let us know how everything turns out.

Good luck.
